Coleman Coffee Break is every Wednesday at 3:15 in PS 255
The Illinois Tech Society of Physics Students is committed to advancing the physics community across the university. SPS IIT hosts the weekly Coleman Coffee Break, inviting faculty and students to gather for coffee, snacks, and conversation. We also host various larger events throughout the semester such as programming workshops, trips to nearby labs, talks from invited speakers, and community social nights.
Beyond events, the Society of Physics Students coordinates the physics mentorship network, offering guidance for research, academics, and anything necessary to pursue a career with physics!
Naturally, SPS IIT interfaces between the Department of Physics and the students within it, organising town halls, the physics student advisory committee, and selecting the representative for the Lewis College Student Council.
Membership within SPS IIT welcomes students into a community dedicated to physics, granting many possibilities and resources.
The mission of the Society of Physics Students of the Illinois Institute of Technology is to promote student success and awareness of physics, working to ensure physics improves our future through the aptitude and community of our members.
The vision of the Society of Physics Students of the Illinois Institute of Technology is a an enriched, educated, outreaching, and successful community of physics-informed students.
